The romantic cottage-inspired Varina takes its name from one of our hometown’s sweetest stories. During the Civil War, local soldier J.D. Ballentine received letters from a young woman who signed them with the pen name “Varina.” After returning home, he sought her out, the two fell in love and married, and he continued to call her Varina throughout their life together. Years later, he named the local post office in her honor—and the name became part of the town we now call Fuquay-Varina.
Inspired by that little piece of local history, we named our original garden greenhouse The Varina—a sweetheart of a greenhouse, built right here at home.

The Varina was designed for gardeners who want a beautiful, hardworking greenhouse without sacrificing the charm of a traditional garden structure. Its simple gabled form, wood framing, handmade details, and light-filled interior make it equally at home tucked into a vegetable garden, surrounded by flower beds, or standing as a focal point in the landscape.
Every Varina is prebuilt in shop and assembled on-site within your garden or landscape, allowing you to choose the location where it feels most at home. Tuck it alongside raised beds, surround it with established gardens, make it the centerpiece of a new landscape, or position it as a natural extension of your home.

Built with traditional 2×4 wood framing over a pressure-treated base, creating a strong, substantial structure designed for permanent outdoor use.
For added stability, upgrade to Prime #1 Kiln-Dried After Treatment (KDAT) lumber. The drying process reduces excess moisture after treatment, helping minimize shrinking, twisting, and warping while providing excellent resistance to rot and decay
Our 6mm twin-wall polycarbonate, screwed to the outside of the frame, provides insulation while diffusing sunlight throughout the growing space. It's lightweight, impact-resistant, and far less vulnerable to breakage than traditional glass.
LP SmartSide siding provides a durable, low-maintenance knee wall sheathing with the traditional appearance of wood siding.
Greenhouses are finished with premium Sherwin-Williams exterior paint or stain for lasting protection and a polished architectural finish. Choose from their signature colors or select a custom color to complement your home and landscape.
