Inspired by traditional North Carolina farm structures, the Lukenbawk is our largest chicken coop—pairing a full-size walk-in henhouse with an attached covered run and plenty of room for larger flocks.

Available with a 6×8 or 8×8 henhouse, the Lukenbawk offers generous floor space, multiple roosts, and a tall interior that makes caring for your flock comfortable for you, too.

A full-height henhouse makes feeding, cleaning, bedding changes, and everyday flock care easy—no crouching or crawling required.

Board & Batten design on henhouse.

Four removable 2×4 roost bars provide generous nighttime roosting space for larger flocks.

An exterior-access nesting box provides convenient egg collection, with removable dividers for flexible nesting spaces.

Operable windows and roof ventilation encourage airflow throughout the large henhouse while keeping openings securely protected.

Black-coated hardware cloth encloses the run while creating a clean, finished appearance.

Marine-grade PVC flooring protects the henhouse and nesting area while making routine cleaning and bedding changes easier.

Turn part of your Lukenbawk into a dedicated storage room for feed, bedding, tools, and flock supplies. An interior dividing wall (with French window access between rooms) and walk-in door keep everything organized and conveniently located right at the coop.

Chickens thrive with space to forage, explore, and get away from one another. As a general starting point, we recommend approximately 1 sq. ft. of roosting space and 10 sq. ft. of run space per chicken when they won't regularly free-range.

Built with traditional 2×4 wood framing over a pressure-treated base, creating a strong, substantial structure designed for permanent outdoor use. True 1×2 wood board-and-batten detailing is carefully installed and sealed with exterior-grade caulk for added protection from the elements.
For added stability, upgrade to Prime #1 Kiln-Dried After Treatment (KDAT) lumber. The drying process reduces excess moisture after treatment, helping minimize shrinking, twisting, and warping while providing excellent resistance to rot and decay
